What do you enjoy most about your job?

Writing investment pieces; the process of pulling together multiple sources, views and statistics into a coherent piece is very satisfying and helps me formulate my own informed view.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I play a lot of music, specifically my guitar. I am always happy whiling the day away the day learning and perfecting a cover of Dire Straits or Eric Clapton. Sometimes this translates into playing with friends in a casual band or a solo open mic night.

One thing that is guaranteed to make your day better…

A sunny morning cycle across Wandsworth Common to the office, preferably with a tailwind.

What made you decide to do the work you’re currently doing?

I read several books on investing whilst completing an accountancy graduate scheme after university. The patient, common sense principles of Jack Bogle, Warren Buffett and Peter Lynch resonated with me, and inspired me to move into wealth management.

What is one personal rule that you never break?

To be honest in all situations – even if the truth is uncomfortable.

What would your specialist subject be on Mastermind?

The music of The Eagles.
