Introducing James

James is an Investment Director at Bowmore Asset Management, having joined the team in 2024. James conducts fund research across all asset classes and chairs the Investment Team’s Asset Allocation meetings. Prior to Bowmore, James spent 5 years at Cantab Asset Management where he was a member of their Investment Research Group and head of Global Equity fund research.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

How much the global economy is constantly changing. There’s always emerging technologies or other forms of disruption that reshape the investment landscape.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I like to stay active, whether its running and swimming on my own, or playing tennis and golf with friends and family.

What made you decide to do the work you’re currently doing?

I was given £50 in a Hargreaves Lansdown account for my 18th birthday and had so much fun picking companies I liked the name of. Fortunately, my investment process has come a long way since then.

What is one personal rule that you never break?

No phones at the dinner table.

What would your specialist subject be on Mastermind?

Arsenal.
